Whew and Woo-hooo!

Ah, The Muse! I have a looong post coming about the conference, how wonderful and horrible, exhausting and energizing it all was. I will even try to decipher my handwritten notes and put up a bit of what I learned about plot and editing and the world of publishing. But I am not quite there yet: back in my work week and seriously dragging.

Here's something that put a little more pep in my tired typing fingers:

I got this brand new shiny blog award-- twice! Thanks, Jenny Phresh and KO. This was just what I needed today.

This award's only requirement is that you pass it on to some other fiery folks.

So here goes:

Nina Badzin at Nina Badzin: The Writing Life, Married Life and Motherhood This blog may literally catch fire thanks to a kind (and well-deserved) mention by Janet Reid.

Mary Frame at It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets an Agent (Great title, huh? This blog is new and lots of fun.)

Amie Kaufman at Amie Kaufman, Writer, Buccaneer, Etc (Tremendously helpful, this one)

France Rants at FranceRants (Who doesn't enjoy a good rant now and then?)

and...

Saumya at Left and Write Brained (Love the variety over there!)

Oh thank you so much!!! :) So fun! It IS too bad we didn't meet there.

Are you--I can't barely say it--not on Twitter????? If you are, find me there. @NinaBadzin. If you're not, why not??? ;)

Can't wait to see your wrap up. Which classes did you attend?

I'm interested to see how you present what you learned at the conference. I will be attending the Pennwriters conference in Pittsburgh in two weeks, and guest blogging on the experience. Congrats on the award!

Nina: I am one of the few folks that doesn't tweet (I posted about my non-twitterness a while back (http://lesserapricots.blogspot.com/2011/02/in-which-i-prove-myself-luddite.html) but I think I might get over this soon...

Laura: That Pennwriters looks good! Have fun and let us know all about it! I focused mostly on plot and revision seminars-- more about that soon!

Perri - thanks so for your comment on my blog, it meant alot!!

Now...for the award..um...seriously, how do I pick it up?

Is it a copy and paste, is a badge, or what?

Because this extra stuff that comes with blogging, I stink at.

Can't wait to hear all the tidbits you are going to share with us!

Hi Francesca!

I'm not all that savvy with this stuff either but here's what I do:

Right-click on the award and when it is highlighted (blue on my pc) I click "copy" and then I go to my blog, put my cursor down and push "paste"

Maybe there's e-enabled person out there who can offer more substantial help?

Perri -

I am seriously laughing very hard right now, because you have just walked me through how to copy and paste..which based on my poorly worded question, was the proper response!

What I actually wanted to know is, am I supposed to put this on my blogsite somewhere? Do I forward it in a future post? How good are awards for??

This is probably why I don't get awards!! I can't accept it without asking a bunch of stupid questions of what to do with it! Other people accept them gracefully, and I, completely unversed in blog award etiquette, get all discombobulated...

...and right now, my stupidity is slaying me...so there's that. Maybe I should 'rant' about it.

That's too funny! I totally read that wrong.

Anyway, for a lot of these award thingys, you have to say 7 things about yourself and pass it on, but for this one, I believe that you just pass it on to some blogs that are "on fire" (in a good way) (also a good idea to notify the awardees.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much Perri!!! You are too sweet. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside (or hot and burny, whatever ;))

You should totally join twitter. I just recently got on there after much prodding from other writers and after the initial "where am I?" phase, I'm quite enjoying it :)

Okay--you for sure need to get started on Twitter. It will increase your blog traffic! Personally, I keep up with blog via Twitter . . . I have all my favorite bloggers on a list so when there's a new post I see it and I can easily retweet it for them. If you need help I'm happy to do what I can. I have a good "how-to" on my blog. http://ninabadzin.com/2011/02/14/twitter-kiss-and-tell/

I was so inspired by my idiocy at my award that I have written a new rant for Monday. Please stop by, I think you will appreciate it!!!

Ahh, post-conference exhaustion. Nothing quite like it! It's so hard to get back to "real" life afterward, though.

Congrats on the award! :P

Thank you so much, you're too kind! Can't wait to hear all about the conference. We don't get to attend many here in Australia, so it's all about living vicariously!
